Ministries: It’s a hard word to define.
At CVC, “ministries” encompass a variety of groups focused on:
- Meeting needs in a specific area
- Encouraging growth in relationship to Christ
Ministries are a great place to:
- Make friends
- Receive care and support
- Employ your gifts to help others
- Learn more about God
Lifegroups are the highest priority at CVC and the best place for attenders to plug-in and get to know each other. We “do life together” by spending time together, growing in relationship and encouraging each other to live godly lives. It’s the place where we learn to use our gifts and put our faith into practice.
Daytime Bible studies, specialty LifeGroups and an annual retreat offer women a place to connect.
Periodic barbecues and other events, as well as an annual retreat, offer men a connecting point.
Sixth through twelfth grade students may participate in weekly meetings, monthly activities, and other activites aimed at encouraging relationships and teaching about the Bible and what it means to live a life of faith right now.
Includes classes and activities for nursery through fifth grade. It is not “childcare” but a place for children to learn and grow in relationship to God.
Another core value of CVC, worship is an integral part of our Sunday morning services and some LifeGroups.
Spiritual formation includes intentional Christian practices — both ancient and contemporary — that lead to spiritual maturity and Christ-likeness. CVC offers various “tools” that lead to spiritual formation, some of these are focused LifeGroups, spiritual direction, inner healing prayer and clearness committees.
This ministry includes an e-mail prayer chain and inner healing prayer (by appointment) for deep spiritual and emotional issues.
